I spoke ever so briefly about saving money in my last post. Lately been reading Money Magazine. They present some valuable advice on money issues for people in all stages of life. Now, granted I’m in my 20s but I read the articles on retirement. It sort of excites me to think if I do it right now I can have a good future. It bothers me to see so many Americans and even people my age in great debt. I understand everyone finds themselves in different situations but when people charge whole vacations to their credit cards I cringe. I don’t go on a trip until I’ve saved for it. Owing someone thousands of dollars would make me lose sleep at night.
Here are some good sites that I often consult for new information on saving and money:
- Dinkytown.net – Oodles of savings calculators
- The Mint – Not just for the youth, but anyone that wishes to learn the basics of savings, spending, earning, and investing
- The Dollar Stretcher – An excellent resource with tons of articles on getting more out of your money
- Marketplace – From American Public Media, a daily program about everything money. Call or email questions.
- CNNMoney.com – CNN’s money section with a lot of resources. Links to Money Magazine.
