I think like many people, I've lately been finding myself so busy with things in life. So much to do with work, classes, and tons of other things. One wishes there were more than 24 hours in the day, or that we didn't need to sleep. Lately we've seen lots of Web 2.0 startups that attempt to help organize your life, but discovering a new calendar program might take up more of your time configuring than actually saving it. One blog I've come to enjoy is Lifehack.org. Almost daily it references articles and sites for improving your life. There was a recent link to an article titled "How to Have a 36 Hour Day." It gives some good tips in squeezing out more hours of the day by cutting back or speeding up other things. It takes a lot of work but I'm not sure one could easily free up 12 extra hours in the day.
I also found another lifehack-type guide that gives you some great tips on improving your life. It's a long read but a worthwhile one. The web site that the 36 Hour Day article is hosted on is a community site called Zaadz. It's a site about changing the world. Many of its bloggers write about their life passions, interests, goals and dreams. It's always nice to find new ways to make your life more efficient.
Audio Tours
A part of all this is also learning new things, changing your ways. The 36 Hour article mentioned LearnOutLoud.com, a great resource of paid and free podcasts and audio downloadables on many different topics. From there I discovered a new phenom. Maybe it hasn't caught on 100 percent, but audio tours are a growing trend. Ride With Me provides downloadable audio road tours of the United States. Drive down I-95? It'll tell you all about the cities you're passing through. Soundwalk sells audio walking tours for New York, France, and India. Instead of a simple narration, you're enveloped in stories, fitting music, sound effects, and interviews, taking tourism to the next level. Audissey Guides offers similar audio guides, and they include a map. Currently they have five locations including Hollywood, Seattle, and Secret Boston. The tours are narrated by locals who know the city the best. The average cost for the walking tours is about $12. Ride With Me costs about $5 through Audible.
